On days such as these, when the sun was no where to be seen and the rain poured down it's torrential gloom everywhere, Siouxsie felt like dying. Since her departure from her homeland, which she was reluctant to make, Siou had been quenching her thirst for excitment by learning to skateboard. It was slightly similar to surfing...it was enough to hold her over until summer. But on days like these, the adrenaline junkie was trapped inside with nearly literally nothing to do. It was terrible.
Boredom makes people do silly things. Like...running up the stairs to the dorm, then mounting the rail and sliding all the way back down over and over again. Yes, that's exactly what Siouxsie was doing. Only, on about the tenth time, she got a 'brilliant' idea, and went into the dorm room to get her skateboard out from underneath her bed. She was expecting the dorm to be full of girls sleeping in, or chatting, but she found it surpirsingly empty. She wondered if there was something going on she didn't hear about. Furrowing her brow, she decided to leave her board and left. Curious to figure out where everyone was, (they had to be in the school, it was raining!) she quickly left the common room and started walking at a rather fast pace through the hallways, listening for voices and looking for any signs of life.

It was massive, it was monumental, it was his. He was sitting on his board the sun on his back as he lie flat on his stomach preparing to paddle. It was about the feeling, he could feel the sea beneath him begin to swell, his arms screaming, one more, and to his feet!
It was a perfect 20 foot rolling wave that carried Alex straight across, he let his hand out to touch the wall of cascading salt water as it shut down around him as soon as it opened a path. There was nothing more beautiful than man and nature as one, it was the ultimate state of being, it was nirvana it was...the ocean in all her unrelenting fury. All it took was one hiccup, he should have known, how many had he seen far more experienced surfers than he wipe out? Hawaii was reputed for their waves...and the coral.
What happened? One minute he was standing, the next his feet were over his head, his lungs dying, his mind going empty and the surface of the water seemed like miles and miles...the sun filtering through the blue, he almost didn't feel his shoulder. That was the dead give away, the total loss of movement in his arm as he flailed stupidly with one arm, the other hanging limp beside him as the water turned a crimson. It wasn't his arm he was worried about, it was the sharks. Shit, they were going to smell that for miles and surfing would be cut off for everyone else for days. Great move Alex.
His eyes snapped open as his arm gave a jolt of pain, he wasn't supposed to sleep on it like that, he rubbed it absently as he put his head up, adjusting his black rimmed glasses on his face. Alex sometimes wondered why he still dreamt about the accident it was two years ago and his arm worked perfectly. Sure it was scarred all the way around--nearly severed in the collision actually--but working all the same. Blinking a few times he realised: he fell asleep in the library. It wouldn't hurt to set aside the studying for now he supposed.
Stretching and returning his text book into the return cart Alex exited and started down the corridor, his shoulder throbbing dully as he continued to rub it. It was as he turned that he thought he saw a familiar face.
"Hey Souxsie!" He grinned as he called out and jogged a bit to catch her pace. "Hello then." He continued to beam. Raining or not it was a very lovely day outside and who else to bump into but another surfing enthusiast. It was in his head now.

She heard her name called out, and she turned to see who it was. A smile crept onto her face as Alex came at a faster pace towards her. "Hello to you too. You seem rather chipper today. " she said, giggling a little. It wasn't in her nature to be a giggly person, but she liked Alex and so she guessed that was why. Although Alex wasn't normally her type, it must have gotten to her head that nobody here surfed, and so it was a nice refresher.
"What are you up to?"
"I don't ever want to look at your hideous face again!"
"Shut up and listen to me you bitch!!"
"Get out!! GET OUT!!!"
The sounds of screaming and yelling pierced Siou's peaceful music. She turned off her radio and put on her swimsuit, then grabbed her surf board and snuck out the window. In times like these, when her parents couldn't stop fighting, she would sneak out and go to the beach, which was conviniantly right across the street. A good surf always freed her mind of everything. The warm, sticky ocean, the thick, hot air, the smooth ride of the waves. It all just got her on a natural high. The way that she felt so incharge, so at peace, so...awesome. Sometimes she would stay out there until she couldn't even see the waves anymore.
"Siouxsie Amily Lawrence, where HAVE you been?!"
And then of course she'd have to answer to her mother freaking out when Siouxsie gets home late...
"I'm hungry, want to get a bite?"

She seemed a bit far off and there at the same time, allowing his head to tilt Alex blinked once or twice before deciding to drop it and continued to grin in response. He offered a little shrug and continued on his way, she'd get the hint or else be lost in his wake. Either way the day would continue. He directed himself to the direction of the dining hall, continuing to nurse his shoulder he pushed his glasses up his nose. It wasn't a twitch, he wouldn't call it a twitch, could it be a twitch? Naw...he didn't do it enough to be a twitch. It was decided it was not a twitch, but his arm!
"Blimey this thing!" He groaned a bit before he gave up. If his shoulder wanted to be a pain it was going to be a pain and all the rubbing in the world wasn't going to fix it. He had medication for it but if he could avoid taking it he would. Right now said meds were in his dormitory, it was just a dull throb it would pass once he allowed it to slip from his mind.
"You all right then Souxsie? Look a bit off." He asked casually. She must really miss the beach, he then thought. Like he said before surfing was a passing fancy for him, a way to clear his head and pass the time in one shot for her...well he imagined she felt about surfing the way he did about History.
True no good came from always looking over one's shoulder--no pun intended--but there was so much to learn from history! It was like reading an amazing novel only it was always a million times better because it actually happened! Of course, his Charms Professors often asked why he couldn't put that vigor into his charms work, and not that he made excuses, but since the accident Alex had to switch to his left hand for writing and casting. Yes he was ambidextrous but to a point, his Transfiguration grade went through the roof, and every year he was in danger of failing Charms. Oh well, he reasoned.
