Michelle gave a sigh as she stared at herself in the mirror. She hated,no, she despised going to these Charity Dinners and big Ballrooms dances. And yes she understood the fact that it was for good causes. But she didn't know anyone every time she went and it always became a huge bore after about an hour.. And the dancing! She knew how to dance, very well indeed, but all of her partners hated her because she always lead. She would rather go to a club, grind against a strange guy for two hours and forget all of her worries.
She repeatedly smoothed out her dress. This was the only part she liked, dressing up. For a night she could truly feel like a princess. Like she was center stage, walking up the red carpet. Tonight she had a simple white with black lace floor length dress.
Her hair was half pulled up in a pony tail and falling gently on her pale shoulders. As she walked downstairs and out to the Limo with the rest of her family she prayed there would be someone there she could dance with tonight. But she couldn't worry about it till the time came.
This wasn't the first time she had ever been to this country club. As a matter of fact this was where one of her yearly competitions took place. This also wasn't her first Ball here either, or benefit for that fact. Coming from a rich family you got used to going to about 30 of these a year. But ever since the accident of her boyfriend it had gotten hard for her. He was always her companion and dance partner. Now she was alone and every time she stepped on to the dance floor it only reminded her of him. The way his hands held her waist. His eyes looked in to her as he got ready to twirl her. How they held each other close as they slowed danced.
She shook off the thought now noticing she was standing in the ballroom. Odin had tugged on her arm to get her to sit down. She looked at him nodding and took her seat at their table. Setting her purse down she slowly relaxed in to the chair, looking around the room, trying to find anyone she knew.
